Antique Copper hardware set with Crop-A-Dile
Tan scrapper's floss
Stardust Clear glittering pen

Sneak Peek #2 - Fly Fairy

When I went to grab today's stamp set...I was soooo tempted to use one you will see later; but decided to challenge myself. I used the set that excited me the least when I saw them all: Fly Fairy. To add to the challenge...I didn't go to the basement for any supplies - I used what I had up here (sneak peek #1).

I currently have a dog child with a hurt leg, and he is on bed rest in the crate. Not being a crate dog, being alone really stresses him, and we're supposed to keep him calm. So, we are hanging out together and he is doing very well. Along with being home all day, I keep trips upstairs or downstairs to a minimum.

Supplies used that differ from yesterday: eyelets are from the Mimi, Winchester & Mia's Cottage hardware packs. Today, I used every piece in the stamp set but the collaged piece at the bottom of the card is larger than what you see (you'll just have to wait for the catalog to see the rest).

Distressing: VersaMark on the large piece of Kraft cardstock. I used the hydra sponge to distress the 1st scallop piece (Burnt Umber Palette on Kraft) and on the outer edges of both pieces of Aspen cardstock. It gives a softer look than ink direct to paper (which is what I usually do).

Now that I've used it...I like this set much more. I challenge you to use a set you think you might not like!!

Sneak Peek #1 - Happily Grateful

I'm starting with my favorite set of the sneak peeks...I am so grateful that TAC is allowing us to share these early with you! The Happily Grateful stamp set has 8 pieces - butterfly, branch, flower parts & 2 phrases. The first time I saw this set - I immediately thought VersaMark & Kaleidacolor. VersaMark looks great on many cardstocks, but I consider it show-stopping on the Kraft cardstock - it just POPS! That's where this card started - branches in VersaMark (looks like a watermark).

Then I decided to coordinate the Kraft cardstock with our rich chocolate Brown and Aspen cardstocks. With all the tan & brown going on...I chose the Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor for making the butterfly stand out. I then used my trusty Burnt Umber Palette ink (stamped, direct to paper, and sponged) for the rest of the card.

Finishing touches used today were with my Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug...and an eyelet from TAC's Amelia hardware pack (set with my Crop-A-Dile). Oh, I almost forgot...I punched out the butterfly piece with our largest scalloped square punch and attached it with Pop-It Pop Dots.

I hope you enjoy this quick & easy card as much as I do!

Sparkle the Teddy Bear

We made this card during my last party - which was held in my basement studio! Everyone had a great time. This is such an adorable "Bountiful Bears" T-3257 stamp set!

I used some of my most favorite products to make this card:

Kraft cardstock - one of my staple cardstocks - looks good with just about any other cardstocks, makes colors pop, and works wonders with VersaMark.
Brown cardstock - such a rich chocolate brown color - brown is the new black.
Birch cardstock - sometimes white just doesn't cut it.
Burnt Sienna Palette Ink - this & Burnt Umber are my most used colors lately.
Color Dusters - come in a pkg of 4 - perfect for adding a bit of color (less than direct ink to paper). I used them for creating the background on this card.
Stardust Glittering Gel Pen - after receiving this pen as a gift, I use my beloved Stickles much less. One pen looks differently on different colors...and no mess!
Pop Dots - gotta add some dimension.

Catalog "New Stamp Set" Blog Hop

I'm so excited to participate in my first Blog Hop hosted by Paper Wings. One of my favorite new stamps sets is Flourish Trees of Hope. It contains 4 trees and 8 words. I've used one tree and three words for my background. I stamped them in Palette Burnt Umber ink on Kraft cardstock.
The pattern paper is TAC's own Rustic Chic, layered over Brown cardstock. The Rustic Chic is so beautiful on it's own...I didn't stamp it at all. I added an eyelet, ribbon, sparkle and pop-dots.

Here's a close up of the sparkle - a new favorite - Stardust Clear Gelly Pen. It adds a great finishing to touch to just about anything.

Circle layer below...brown scalloped, Rustic Chic, eyelet then ribbon. Be sure to use your Stardust pen BEFORE adding eyelet and ribbon.

I had so much fun creating this card...I decided to pull out some more supplies and using the same stamp set - turn it into a Christmas card.

Supplies: cardstock/paper: Kraft, Brown, and TAC's Reece. Palette Landscape ink for tree, "Believe" and around the edge distressing, Palette Burnt Umber for distressing pieces of Reece cardstock. Embellished with Antique copper eyelet and Reece ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. For more creations using brand new stamp sets from TAC's 2009-2010 Inspiration book & catalogue, please check out my fellow Angel's blogs:
