October Stamp of the Month: Sketched Scrolls

Yippee!! I was chosen as one of three people who got to be a Designer for TAC's October Stamp of the Month (SOTM). You can find 4 of my 6 creations on TAC's website...and the other 2 here. I waited to post until I had permission from TAC - sometimes they save things for a later date.

The "joy" card above was SO easy...can't wait to do a class on them. Take an already scalloped 8x8 sheet from the DCWV stack; fold in half, and decorate. I used some TAC exclusive Cha Cha cardstock and the Joy stamp is from the Faith stamp set. Quickly finish this card with a sander, scallop punches, crop-a-dile, eyelet & pop dots.

I am looking forward to when my life slows down enough that I can enter TAC's "card to crop" monthly contests. Since it hasn't happened yet, I did my own "card to crop" for the SOTM (and threw in an ornament).

I'm not up on all the official names of techniques...but I love how quick & easy this one is. Start with Glossy cardstock, stamp image in VersaMark, then load up your brayer with Kaleidacolor ink and roll away. The VersaMark ink resists the Kaleidacolor ink. Be sure to pre-cut your pieces of glossy for good coverage...and keep rolling the brayer back & forth flowing off onto your paper underneath. The more pressure the better.

The ornament was fun to make. Upon trial & error...I learned that it's easier to embellish with stickles BEFORE folding and assembly (best to distress edges beforehand too).

This is our 1st furry child, Jasper. He just loves the snow!

The other card I made was a Valentine one - I'm guessing TAC wasn't able to get a good pic of it, because it looks much more beautiful in person than even the pics I took. I tried out the Champagne Dazzle VersaMark ink on the red background.

It's hard to see the dimension of this card in the picture on TAC's website. I cut off the right edge from the top half of the cardstock after folding it...and laid a strip of the patterned cardstock that I made. I also used the Scor-Bug Embosser to add a little more to the card.

Thanks for looking. I am starting to work on Christmas cards; look for pics after November 10th when I return from a long crafting weekend with girlfriends.

Not Stamped at All

Well, I did the unexpected; here's a project that I didn't stamp at all. I did use some of my normal stamping supplies. My husband needed a lamp for his side of the bed...and we couldn't find any shade that we liked. So, I took a plain white lamp shade to the basement studio for transformation.
I didn't stamp it at all (even though I was tempted) so that he wouldn't think it was girly!! I took a decorative pillow off the bed to combine/match colors. And the layering began...Before:
I started with Palette Cognac and one of my favorite tools...a Color Duster to lay down the base color.

Then, I went more DRASTIC and took the Cognac ink pad and touched the lamp shade directly. I love that these ink pads are oval. I also went down the lines of the shade because when the lamp was ON...you could see the metal bars.

It was looking less white, but now I needed some darker color. I grabbed the Burnt Sienna Palette ink pad and wiped it sideways, and went over the dark areas again. When compared to the pillow...colors were good, but it was too bright...so I used a color duster again and added in Prussian Blue Palette ink (this step really can't be seen much...but it worked).

Next, I used a piece of Hydra Sponge and my Brilliance Galaxy Gold refill to add the finishing touches. I love how the lamp shade looks completely different when the lamp is on.

The finished product...installed! It really glows like that in real life. Tim was very excited!

Catalog "New Stamp Set" Blog Hop

I'm so excited to participate in my first Blog Hop hosted by Paper Wings. One of my favorite new stamps sets is Flourish Trees of Hope. It contains 4 trees and 8 words. I've used one tree and three words for my background. I stamped them in Palette Burnt Umber ink on Kraft cardstock.
The pattern paper is TAC's own Rustic Chic, layered over Brown cardstock. The Rustic Chic is so beautiful on it's own...I didn't stamp it at all. I added an eyelet, ribbon, sparkle and pop-dots.

Here's a close up of the sparkle - a new favorite - Stardust Clear Gelly Pen. It adds a great finishing to touch to just about anything.

Circle layer below...brown scalloped, Rustic Chic, eyelet then ribbon. Be sure to use your Stardust pen BEFORE adding eyelet and ribbon.

I had so much fun creating this card...I decided to pull out some more supplies and using the same stamp set - turn it into a Christmas card.

Supplies: cardstock/paper: Kraft, Brown, and TAC's Reece. Palette Landscape ink for tree, "Believe" and around the edge distressing, Palette Burnt Umber for distressing pieces of Reece cardstock. Embellished with Antique copper eyelet and Reece ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. For more creations using brand new stamp sets from TAC's 2009-2010 Inspiration book & catalogue, please check out my fellow Angel's blogs:

Happy Thoughts and Butterflies

Here's the two cards I created while in Washington. D.C. I took a limited amount of supplies with me since I only had part of one day to stamp (had to leave time for sleeping in).

This first card was made for a NEW Stamp set swap. Supplies used: Stamps: Happy Thoughts, Wishing Happiness. Cardstock: White Ultrasmooth, Glossy white, Monochromatic Violets. Inks: Palette Violete & Chartreuse, Kaleidacolor Bouquet. Tools/toys/embellishments: Crop-a-dile, Miss Moxie hardware, Garden Mix bitty blossoms, color duster, Stardust Gelly pen.

Supplies for this card that differ from card above: Monochromatic Purples, Palette French Lilac, Kaleidacolor Spectrum.

Instead of using a color duster to distress this one; I used a large eyelet. Holding the bottom as a little handle - I tapped directly on the inkpad then the paper - numerous tappings before reinking. I love how it came out...and was SO easy.

Inspired as a tourist in Washington, DC

I was recently a tourist for a day or so in Washington, DC (for the first time). Had a great time with a friend of mine who was there working on genealogy research. During her last day of class, I had a much needed "Ginger day" in the Sofitel hotel.

  • Slept in - no responsibilities!
  • Walked to Starbucks and a nearby cafe for lunch.
  • Then back to the room for a few hours of rubberstamping creation. I took limited supplies, but am pleased with my 2 creations - while watching a car show on SPEED tv.
I am using one of the cards in a swap I recently entered and am not allowed to show you for a couple more days. Then it will be posted here. Until then, you can enjoy my newly created signature.

Blog Candy WINNER here, and more loot with Barb!

It has been entirely TOO long since I have posted about "blog candy." My original plan was to find goodies that I no longer needed and add them slowly to a box for "blog candy." Well, all plans went flying out the window when we found our new house WAY sooner than planned...and everything just had to get packed!

In the rush, I misplaced the original item in the box...but, it's been found. So, time for the drawing: There were 4 entries - Debra, Joy, Diana & Carol. The winner (based on random.org randomizer) is...

There were 4 items in your list. Here they are in random order:
Diana - woo hoo!!
Joy
Carol

My Catalog Submissions

Now that our catalog - TAC's Base Book - is released, I can show you my 5 submissions that weren't chosen. TAC received so much beautiful artwork, I'm sure it was hard for them to choose.

Last October, I submitted three cards, one clipboard and one 8x8 scrapbook page. Because of the changes to the new Base Book...we had to wait an extra LONG time. It was worth the wait for Margo, one of my team members...she's published on page 33. I am so excited for her...it's her first time.
I was so excited about my scrapbook page, just sure it would make the cut. I had no idea TAC would "new & improve" the Mimi cardstock. With my hardware in all 4 corners, they couldn't easily switch out the cardstock piece. I am pleased to report - there aren't any samples in the Base Book with the stamp sets I used.

Finishing Touches

Well...I think I'm back in business! I have cleared out enough of my basement to set up tables and start playing. My first project in my new space is my half-completed swaps for TAC's Seminar (annual convention where they release next catalog). I started them before the dog's surgery...and worked on them some while he was recovering.

Since Seminar is next week...I've gotta get them DONE! While I was working...I thought I'd post about finishing touches. Have you ever made a card or project that looked good...but was missing something? It could have been the finishing touches.

First card picture is before adding the last things to make it pop. Next card picture is with the finishing touches: I added white stitching, white on the butterfly (white Gel Xtreme pen) and Stickles glitter glue to the middle of the flower.

Stay tuned for more fun projects!

I look forward to unpacking lots more boxes and having all of my stuff available and ready to play.

Where did Ginger go?

It's been almost 2 months since I've posted. Wow, alot has happened. Here's the short version: Lots of boxes packed & unpacked (still way more to undo), moved to new house (pictured).

Our dog, Shadow, had extensive ear surgery - then complications leading to another surgery 2 weeks later - 5 weeks later he's good and back to himself.

We are currently in the process of painting and spiffing up the old house. It's been on the market for about 10 days with 3 showings so far.

Our first sleepover house guests (Tim's family) visited for a couple days, went on vacation and will return tomorrow.

If you have a way to get more than 24 hours on the clock - I could really use some spares!! Gotta run - I am the touch-up paint girl today.

SO - how about a Blog Candy Surprise!! BUT...I don't like to post without a photo. So...I just went in my office and found this little baggie of brads.

Wow...what a Birthday and latest Red Hat projects

Wow...as my husband puts it...I got a house for my birthday. We have been talking about moving, finally chose an agent on March 13th and found our next home without him on March 15th. It's been a whirlwind ever since...packing boxes, picking out floors/counters/etc...and working on tons of details. The home we found is 14 miles away...and is NEW!! The house we currently live in was built in 1956, and was our first home purchase. A huge change for us!

I found these pictures of projects I made as gifts in March. I attended a Red Hat luncheon and 2 ladies were having birthdays...one a red-hatter (red/purple) and the other a pink-hatter (pink/lavender)...so these were the appropriate colors for each. One is a 4x6 photo album, and the other a journal with lined pages.

It was easy to pop these out one evening before the gathering. I didn't use all TAC products because I found the cool red/purple/pink dimensional stickers on sale at Target...just had to use them. I just love the Bazzil textured cardstock and the Palette inks (used Claret TT-194 on pink, Violete TT-200 on red) .
Stamp is TAC - ahhh...I just spent over 30 minutes trying to find the stamp I used in the catalog/magalogue and older catalog; and can't find it. WooHoo...Diana knows: it's the Swoops & Swirls stamp set - was a hostess set a while back. Thanks so much! It's just one stamp...over & over for both pieces.

Happy Birthday to ME: Early!

I haven't been doing much stamping since we did some room changes and I have a different table in the livingroom. I thought it would work...sent the other table off...then realized that this table was "squishy" for stamping. Talk about frustrating!!
Right now, we are at Starbucks - and a brand new 6ft table is in the back of the truck! I'm so excited to be able to really stamp again. I've been doing other things for the past 4-6 weeks, but have missed being able to play with my stamping toys.

My birthday isn't until the 21st, but I received my gift early in February. A Dell Mini 9 computer. I just LOVE it!! And today, I was able to get onto the new wifi at my local Starbucks. Yeah!! This is my new blog hopping zone. I enjoy getting out of the house, away from the dogs, ringing phones and all the other distractions of home. With more blog hopping; I expect more blog updating too. My husband likes a good coffee, and enjoys reading a book on his new Kindle2. It's a new kind of date night for us.

We also had a little snow storm this past week...got about 5 inches of snow. I used it as an excuse to stay home for a couple days...and left my car "snowed in." It was very beautiful! Now it's in the 50's and we're still melting.

Escape to San Antonio 2009

TAC spoiled us in San Antonio for Escape with projects & goodies. What a fun time; and the weather was great. After reviewing some of the photos I took, I found a couple good ones to share. Here's me with TAC staff - don't I look like I fit in?! I may have to rething things if I ever move to Kansas City...LOL

And a picture of Mischelle (TAC owner) signing autographs in the room where we spent plenty of time with make & takes and projects. Of course, plenty of socializing goes hand in hand with the concentration...because being an Angel is just more FUN!

Upon returning home, I held a team meeting where I could share what I created and received in Texas. Swaps are on the table, and TAC projects & goodies are on the metal risers...this was about a third of what came home with me. I put my card in with the rest to see if anyone could pick it out...one person got it right away.

To see a bunch more pictures - check out Mischelle's Saavy Projects blog - it can always be found on TAC's home page. Enjoy!

Texas was fun and we have a new Magalogue...

I had a great time at my brother's and at TAC's Winter Escape in Texas. We have a new magalogue (goes live Feb. 1, 2009 - products will be available on my website). It's 48 pages of stamps, projects & inspiration along with 5 new hostess sets. You can catch some sneak peek pics that I took on Diana's blog.

The magalogue in the photo is the copy I received at the ClubMed dinner - we had a great time, even ate dessert first!! TAC spoiled us throughout the 3 days. If you would like your own magalogue - it's $2.95 plus shipping along with a $3 coupon off your first order.

Once Shadow gets done going thru my luggage I'll find some things to post. Until then - stay warm. We got our first snow today.

Texas Trip 2009 - Brenham & San Antonio

I am having such a great time visiting my brother and his family before heading to San Antonio for TAC's Leadership Conference 2009!! Once in S.A., I will be catching up with some of my TAC Angel friends and learning about the new magalogue (think - combination of magazine and catalog) TAC is introducing. This issue is going to be 40+ pages. WOW

I'm trying to send a pic msg from my phone, to my e-mail...then I can get it on my brother's computer and upload it for you...let's hope it works. Hmmm, well it worked, but the picture quality stinks.

This is my "swap" card for San Antonio. This card has alot of ME in it. I love to travel around the US; I love mountains/trees; and I love blues/greens. And there's a small girly flourish on the bottom corner.

TAC products used: stamps...Mountain Scenery T-815, Go Abroad T-2950; cardstock...Glossy, Robin's Egg 2 & 3, and a touch of Pop Rockz; inks...Palette Prussian Blue, Reflection Blue, Virdian Leaf & Giverney Green; hardware is from the Lilly Anna collection.

Nine Merry Christmas Cards

I promised Christmas cards in my last post...then my dog, Shadow, had ear scope surgery because of numerous infections. My week+ was spent in the livingroom caring for him. It was much more involved than we had expected. Shadow is doing better now, but still on meds.

I hope all of you are enjoying a wonderful Christmas Day - we are! For my craft fairs, I created a number of cards to sell...so these were all created in duplicate. If you would like any info on a card...just ask. Fortunately, all these cards were made, mailed & sold BEFORE dog issues escalated.

November's Stamping Get Away!

I am blessed to have some good friends to spend weekends with playing with scrapbooking & stamping. 2008 has seemed extra busy, so I opted to stamp again on an extended weekend away. This time we headed to the other edge of Maryland - Deep Creek Lake - 5 1/2 hours away.

Three of us PACKED Jennifer's vehicle and headed down the road on Friday - returning late Tuesday. We joined 7 others in a summer home on the lake - it's kind of nice to have VERY limited cell phone use. Although we were a bit bummed that the computer's broadband card was also out of range!

With my looming craft fairs in mind - I worked on covering calendars and Christmas cards. I bought the calendars at the store, slipped off the plastic cover and used TAC's 8x8 papers to cover them. Then added stamping, Glaze Gelly Pens, Stickles, Assorted Flowers and embellishments - keeping things fairly flat so the plastic cover will fit back on the calendar. If you decide to make some of your own - it's pretty easy...just know not all calendars are the same dimensions. Find the tallest, and use it's measurements for cutting your paper (lesson I learned last year).

The sunflower one I sold the day it was made...and the rest (along with many more) sold at the craft fair on base this past Saturday. AND, I have an order for 6 more to make this week. WooHoo!

One of my favorite color combinations is on the middle/top calendar in the picture. Using Uptown Girl paper and Claret Palette ink...you can make it look like the stamping is part of the paper (something I love to do).

I see that the Christmas cards didn't make the photo shoot that weekend...so they'll be in my next post.

October Crafting Weekend with Friends

I had a great time on a Crafting weekend with friends...they all scrapbooked, and I stamped. I'm the one on the far left. I couldn't wait to put some ink to paper with a new stamp set from TAC's Fall Supplement.

Six of us rent a 3-bedroom house from Friday afternoon until Monday morning, and then we move IN. It's alot of fun!!

That weekend, I got a few card designs completed and produced in duplicate (to sell at my craft fairs). Pink Thank U card (even sold a few to a gal there that weekend), a kids gecko card, and got a start on our personal Christmas card.

Pink Card: Thank U stamp set, Pinks & Purples Bazzill cardstock, Black cardstock, Scrappers Floss, Stickles, Palette inks: Toile Pink, Claret & Violete.

Green Card: Lily Pad Pond stamp set, Greens & Yellows Bazzill cardstock, TAC's Kaleidascope Boyz paper, Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink, eyelets from the TAC hardware packs.

I had fun playing with my Scor-Pal (I'm so glad we sell it, just ordered the carrying bag this month). Both cards fold differently than your "basic" card. Pink is scored at 2" & 7 1/2", green gatefold is scored at 2 1/8" & 6 3/8" (dots on the Scor-Pal).

I left my blogging brain in Seattle, Washington

Wow - where has all the time gone? I posted here; then went on vacation in Western Washington with my husband, Tim (usually, I make the trip "home" alone). Shhh, here's a picture of him picking blackberries near my dad's place in Concrete, WA.

It seems like it was forever ago when we were wearing shorts daily. I've been crafting - but obviously not sharing with you. Shame on me.

This time of year gets very hectic with all the craft fairs (day events where I sit at a table and try to sell my hand-crafted wares). Unfortunately, they start much earlier than I prefer to get up, so my sleep schedule also suffers. For instance, it's almost 4 am...and I'm up for a few hours.

Now let me go look for some pics...or take some. Expect to see something hand-crafted VERY soon.

Table-Top Garbage/Scraps problem...

Life is still crazy busy; where does the time go? We are doing well and are currently preparing for a vacation to Western Washington in a couple of days. I can't wait - that's home to me!!

Since my team meeting is tomorrow night, I was straightening up and decided to fix my table top scrap/garbage problem. I recently bought these cute plastic baskets (in green & blue - my colors) thinking they'd be great for cute little table top garbages. I got them at the "Everything's a DOLLAR" store. They came 2 per pack!

I put in a small bag so things wouldn't fall thru those cute little holes...and it worked, but was quite unsightly. Plus, the basket lost all of it's cuteness.

Although it's not stamped at all...I now LOVE my little garbage container. I used about 4 yards of ribbon and a small piece of cardstock in the bottom. It took me about 40 minutes to do once I had the idea.

Seminar Creations

In May & June - I was working on projects for TAC's (The Angel Company) Annual Seminar. Here a couple of them -

First is a box I decorated (was on clearance - later wished I had more than one) and filled with yummy Dove dark chocolates. The box was just white, I used a couple of colors of palette ink pads (they are oval) and touched them directly to the box (I love this effect, and it's SO easy). Then stamped, colored, matted, stickled, pop-dotted and added flowers...and Voila...a creation I didn't want to give up. This was my "prop swap" for the Manager's Luncheon.

Second, is a 6x6 scrapbook page I made up for swapping with others. After my first Seminar - I decided that all of my 6x6 pages would include photos...it's not a requirement, but it looks finished and much nicer.

I used our TAC Scarlet, Brown & Kraft cardstocks; assorted bitty blossoms, Flourishes & All Things of Nature stamp sets; Burnt Umber Palette ink.

These beautiful tulips are located in my beloved state of Washington - there are fields & fields of tulips every April. I look forward to possibly seeing it again in 2009. These photos are scans from years ago when I used film photography.

Sorry about the yellow cast in the photos - I tried to block some of the excess light and it backfired on my pictures.

I was so surprised and honored when I was asked to be a "Princess for a Day." Today is my day - you can check it out on the Queen Kat Bloggers Club http://qkdbloggers.blogspot.com/. Bummer the pictures didn't come out clear, but you can see them here on my blog.

TAC Seminar; Exhilaration, Fellowship, New Products!!

Talk about an "Angel" floating on cloud nine!! I almost didn't go to TAC's Seminar...and am so glad I didn't miss it. Upon arrival, I met up with friends. When I went to get the ribbons to hang on my name badge I was in 7th Heaven...I had "Top Sales," "ClubMed" AND "Catalogue Designer." Woo Hoo - I finally knew my artwork made it into TAC's catalog (a dream & goal since attending my first TAC Seminar in 2004).

Thursday luncheon was for ClubMed (Managers, Executives & Directors only) - there I got to see a catalog and found 4 of my creations!!

The rest of Seminar went quickly with make & takes, projects and friends. Then came Saturday evening - the Banquet & Awards Ceremony. As a Catalog Designer - I got to walk across stage and received a certificate for $50 in FREE stamps. Shortly after that, I walked across stage again for my promotion to Executive and received a special pin. I was quite happy & excited and expected to remain in my seat for the rest of the evening. Imagine my surprise/excitement/and tears when my name was the first call for the "Rising Star" Award!! I went on stage for the 3rd time and received a gift, a pin, a certificate AND A TIARA!!! I think I floated back to my seat!!

TAC's definition (in an e-mail to me): The Rising Star is awarded to our Top Angels that may not have had top sales but none the less recognizes them for their outstanding sale and recruiting efforts!!

Shortly after returning to my hotel room - we heard weird noises, thinking it was thunder, we looked outside and realized it was fireworks. My roomie & I took off downstairs in time to watch the rest of the fireworks across the river at the stadium. I just love them!! With my wonderful evening, it felt like they were for ME.

I came home with a bunch of trades, at least 5 new stamp sets and wonderful memories.

Top picture is of myself (left) and Diana Maldonado - my wonderful friend who lives in Pueto Rico. She is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet - I am so blessed to have her in my life. Of course, I'd look much better in this picture if I had uglier & fatter friends!!! Love Ya anyway Diana!! LOL

The card front is one of the trades/swaps I made for Seminar. I love horses and realistic images...so this set really speaks to me. More later...it's past my bedtime.
TAC supplies used: Happy Trails stamp set; Rustic Chic paper pack; Scarlet, Brown and Kraft cardstocks; Versamark and Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor inks; Scor-Pal; and eyelets from the Crop-A-Dile case.

Off to Wichita, Kansas

I am leaving tomorrow for The Angel Company's Annual Seminar (back on Monday, June 23rd). I am very excited to see old friends and make some new ones. This is where we get to see the new catalog and make fun projects to take home & share with others.

The stamping projects I've been working on lately are swaps for this event. Once I return home, I'll be able to post my creations here. AND hopefully I'll be sharing which of my creations made it into the catalog (oh, I can't wait!!). Have a great week!!!

I'll leave you with a picture of my workspace in the partially converted livingroom (keep in mind I have a whole room next door that I've outgrown - and is a holy mess). This is where I have my monthly team meetings.

Tagged!

I just arrived home, and see that I got "tagged" by Barb - one of my new friends I made while at a TAC retreat in San Antonio early this year (and Angelhood1 sister).

The "rules" of the game: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

Ten Years Ago: I was engaged to my husband, Tim, whom I met earlier in the year. I was living in what he calls my "precious" Washington state (I had planned to stay there until I met a Navy man). I was working for a computer company in Bellevue (not Microsoft) and enjoying my job, friends and walk to work from my 1-bedroom apartment. I was driving a blue Toyota Corolla with Seattle Mariner's specialty plates (I still regret not taking a picture of them). And, I was ten years younger and skinnier! LOL

Five things in my "to do" list today:
1. Gas up the Mustang and drive home from North Carolina. (done) I just returned from a long weekend with friends - I met my friend, Crystal who lives in Florida for some time spent at Archiver's (she scrapbooked, I stamped cards). We stayed with my friend, Dee and her husband. 2. Unpack car (not done yet)
3. Decide if I want to go out to dinner or stay home - still undecided. Usually, it's a no-brainer - I love to eat out, but I'm feeling a bit tired after all that driving.
4. Play with the dogs - my babies!
5. Give my computer some attention, it's been sorely missed...I've been without REAL internet since Friday morning! Ahhhhh...

Snacks I enjoy: Red licorice, quality dark chocolate, caramels, potato chips (ok, pretty much anything with sugar in it)

Things I would do if I was a millionaire:
Travel lots more, buy my mom a house, own a horse again, drive a blue V8 Mustang (instead a of a V6), enjoy the debt free life, pay off family member's debt, buy both properties next to us and build us a new house, hire a maid, own a place in Washington state, upgrade electronic toys (laptop, camera, cell phone, game systems, etc.), and the list goes on...

Places I have lived:
Washington state (Everett, Snohomish, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, North Bend, Puyallup, Federal Way - yeah, I moved frequently).
Grayslake, Illinois
Piney Point, Maryland
Fantasy Land

My 5 people are SBS17 Sisters:
Alison
Darlene
Marcie
Sally
Tracy

Ok - after seeing my blog again - I just can't stand such a large post without a photo. So, I have added a picture of me from my weekend trip. I'm in the workroom at Archiver's scrapbooking store in Raleigh, NC. That's where my friend, Crystal, and I meet to work on our stuff together - she lives in Florida (and I'm in Maryland). It's in black & white because I'm working on my swaps for TAC's Seminar - and the cat isn't allowed out of the bag yet.

I've received my first Blog Award!

Thanks to my SBS sister17, Sally for my first ever blog award. I would love to pass this award on to Alison, Diana, and Tina.

Fun Stamping Weekend in Virginia Beach, VA

I drove down to Virginia Beach for about 35 hours of stamping, shopping & fun with a few friends (Karen, Alison, Tammy, Chrissy, & Fairle). It was a "going away" slumber party for Alison. Her husband is about to retire from the Navy and they expect to be moving at the end of June to Pennsylvania.

As a surprise to Alison, we created a 6x6 album in her honor. I provided the album and decorated the cover, and contributed 5 pages. You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

Pink Album (page 68 in catalog): Treasure It stamps T-2747, VersaMagic chalk ink pads - Perfect Plumeria S-954, Pink Petunia S-975, Hint of Pesto S-958, Icicle Stickes F-522 (one of my FAVORITE blings), white cardstock and brown ribbon.

Purple Title Page: Purple 1 cardstock V-127, Gold from Sparkle cardstock Asst V-225, Green 1 cardstock V-98, pink strip is from Bella Flor R-2500, Flourishes stamp set T-2614, All Occasion uppers & lowers T-2112 T-2113, Violete & Noir Palette inks TT-200 TT-220, square gold brads & green ribbon.

Alison & I met December 18, 2003 at our husband's Christmas work party. A few months later, I became an Angel with The Angel Company and Alison was my best customer. By August 2005 - Alison joined me and the Sterling Halos team began. This 2-page spread is from one of the monthly get togethers at Alison's place with Margo & myself.

Items used: Pink 2 cardstock V-92, black cardstock V-215, Garden of life stamps (retired), Assorted Bitty Blossoms D-437, Assorted hardware, pink ribbon, Noir Palette ink and Crystal Blush Opalite ink on black page backgroun (retired). I used the Prismacolor H2O pencils F-12 & a Tombow blending pen F-20 for coloring.

Pink Craft Fair Projects

You haven't heard from me much lately because I've been getting stuff made for my spring craft fairs. The first weekend of May was my longest one - 3 days. I didn't get pics of my favorite new item before it sold (forgot in the rush of packing up), so I'll be working on making a duplicate when I get a chance.

We carry "candy tins" in silver & white with an accordian folded white cardstock inside. I tried something "tricky" with the first accordian page and messed it all up - so for the 2nd tin, I cut the accordian pages in 1/2 to share between the 2 tins. Worked out better anyway since once it was embellished, it wouldn't have fit back in the tin.

Because the Bella Flor cardstock is back momentarily (on sale from $19.95 to $10 while supplies last); I decided to make a bunch of things with it to showcase the beauty of the cardstock (and I'm not a pink person).

I'm also working on swaps/trades for TAC's Annual Seminar in June - but won't post those until after I get home (gotta keep the excitement going). I will say I started with red cardstock and built from there - and I love them.

Supplies used: H-109 White candy tin, F-117 Sonia purse, H-104 chipboard clipboard, T-2638 Petal Pack stamp set, T2658 Swirly Gigs stamp set, T-2116 Earth Laughs stamp set, D-437 Assorted Bitty Blossoms, F-516 Crystal Stickles, Assorted TAC hardware including B-114 Lilly Anna, K-100 Crop-A-Dile, A-078 Kissy Fit Big Fab Flowers (plus a green one), D-300 Velvet brads, ribbon from Michael's (shhh).

Clipboard Photo Frame

In March, I celebrated my birthday. It was officially on Friday -but the party started on Sunday of that week.

On Friday, the 21st, I took a mini road trip with 2 friends (Michele - left, Michelle - right) an hour north. We had a wonderful day shopping and eating out at Red Robin - followed by ice cream & Starbucks before heading towards home.

I recently had a "clipboard class" which I love doing; one gal said she was going to use her clipboard for a photo. I loved the idea - now this is hanging on my wall.

What a great way to remember a superb day!! Plus, the photo is only held by the clip - no adhesive, so it's easy to change when my mood changes.

Supplies used are TAC with a little help of "contraband" ribbon. H-104: 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Chipboard Clipboard, V-830 Kamalaht Cardstock, B-211 Mimi Ribbon, T-2614 Flourishes stamp set, D-437 Asst. Bitty Blossoms, K-100 Crop-A-Dile, K-101 Crop-A-Dile case & eyelets, TT-218 Burnt Umber Palette Ink pad, TA-2576 It's the Little Things stamp set, F-1 Tombow Glue Stick

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers 17

Time Flies - ALL the Time!!
One of my goals for 2007 was to take a moment to smell the flowers. It did help remind me to take a little time just to BE - life goes by so quickly, and we need to take a moment to just enjoy it.

And tonight, I joined the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers group #17. This should help me stay committed to posting more often!! And I am "required" to take the time to visit others' blogs. It should be fun!

February Stamp of the Month Designer!

I am so excited, I was chosen as one of 3 demonstrators with TAC to be the "Stamp of the Month" Designer for February 2008!! I was under strict confidential orders until my artwork was published on their site. It was SO hard to keep it quiet!! All the pieces I submitted made it on their website.

Here's what it said on their website: "SOTM samples The following card ideas for this month's SOTM were submitted by Ginger Serafin. Click on image to see larger version."

I think I've gone purse crazy!

I purchased the Memory Purse about 5 months ago...and it sat in a box. Today, it surfaced. A friend ordered one recently, and another friend swears she'll get to hers by March. I took that as a challenge, to start mine. And technically, it's only 1/2 done.

Starting with an 8 x 10 piece of cardstock, I pretty much created a scrapbook page. Phew...it took me an hour and a half from finding and printing the pictures to taking this pic.

All supplies used are available thru TAC including the Memory Purse V817; Robin's Egg 1 cardstock V-105, Apple Green 2 cardstock V-103, Rustic Chic paper pack V-928, Brown cardstock V-235, Ivory Ultrasmooth Cardstock V-223, Elegeant Sentiments stamps T-2884, Diggity Dogs stamps T-2351, Charcoal Leaves stamps T-2122, Burnt Umber TT-218 and Jardin Moss TT-215 Palette ink, Hemingway Hardware B-115, Hemingway Ribbon Asst B-215.

Perfect for an Uptown Girl

I've completed my 2nd Sonia Purse...and I can't decide which one I love more. I guess I'll keep going, and decide which one is MINE later.

For this one, I inked the edges with black before applying any paper. Then traced the outlines of the purse on the papers and cut with a papercutter (slightly on the INSIDE of the lines). Since I had the exact papers ready, I stamped and decorated them BEFORE affixing to the purse. Then used the glue stick to adhere. Added a floral touch and some ribbon...DONE!

Supplies are all available thru TAC: Sonia Purse F-117, Uptown Girl paperpack V-922, Claret TT-194 and Noir TT-220 Palette inks, Starburst Florals stamps T-2866, Kissy Fit Big Fab Flowers A-087, Shimmer Brads D-301, White Gel Xtreme Pen F-169, and various ribbons.

A visit with the Past

I recently returned from vacation in Orlando, FL and WA state. I had to go to Bellevue Square, since I haven't been back in 10 years. The mall has really grown, but "Impress," the rubberstamp store was still there - and looks the same.

I just had to have my picture taken there. What a "blast from the past" feeling.

This store made a difference in my rubberstamping addiction. During my visit to Bothell, Washington last year, I tried to find the store that got me hooked on stamping. Unfortunately, it's no longer there.

Covered my FIRST Sonia Purse

I just finished my first Sonia Purse, yeah! It was fun and pretty easy.
I chose 4 coordinating sheets of the "A Little Whimsy" 8x8 paper pack. Then I used the "Tombow Glue Stick" on a side, placed the paper and then exacto'd the edges. Repeated for each one.
The top and front flap are one piece (not connected to the back). I used "Concord Grape" chalk ink for stamping and on the paper edges to cover any white. Then the eyelets & flowers came out - obviously had fun there!

I went online before starting this project for ways to do this. Next time I may try the tracing and cutting technique for comparison.

Supplies are all available thru TAC: Sonia Purse F-117, A Little Whimsy paperpack V-924, Concord Grape VersaMagic Chalk ink S-914, Flourishes stamps T-2614, Fresh Air Favorites stamps T2868, Assorted Bitty Blossoms D-437, and a variety of eyelets in the catalog.

Oh yeah, I have a BLOG?!!

How could I have forgotten, and where has all the time gone?
I got a new computer, after a month the harddrive had to be replaced...and the "favorites" link to my blog went away. I used a link on Alison's blog to locate mine - then couldn't remember my sign-in information. I hope you are laughing WITH me and not at me. ha ha ha
Since my last post...
Late October: Road trip scrapbooking with Crystal (from Florida). We met at my friend's in North Carolina for an extended weekend.
November: Attended Tim's brother's wedding in Pennsylvania. And another long weekend scrapbooking in the other end of Maryland about 5 hours away. It was SO cold!!

December: A couple of craft fairs, made 100+ Christmas cards, and the usual Christmas fun. I also made a last minute road trip to Virginia Beach just before New Year's. I saw Alison (standing next to me) and Tammy & Karen (seated). We had a great time in Karen's new studio stamping and looking at the new TAC catalog.

January: Had a wonderful visit in Texas with my brother's family for a week, then to San Antonio (a few hours away) to attend TAC's annual retreat. Black & white pic is of Mischelle Smith (owner of TAC) and myself. We all stayed at the Menger Hotel right between the Alamo & the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I love the courtyard - my fantasy yard! And I got to wear my shorts again!!

AND I'm not done. I have a scrapbooking weekend in a few days (thank goodness it's local), and a trip to Orlando on the 1st of February. No wonder my friends are giving me a bad time about never being at home.
Here's a few clipboards I covered for my craft fairs:

My First Ever Board Book

Last November, I had the opportunity to go on my first cruise with my friend, Crystal.

From start to finish today! Yippee!! I am pleased with how it ended up coming out.

I used TAC's Tea Break Chipboard book (V842 $3.50) and Surf Shoppe Paper Pack (V923 $3.50 sale right now) along with numerous stamp sets from my TAC stash (retired & current). Coloring in a couple spots was done with watercolor pencils & a blender pen (a favorite of mine).

Did I Scare You?

Here's my latest card. Made it for a swap, workshops & my team meeting last night. I love it when a card covers all the bases.

Supplies used: T-2623 Friendly Goblins, V-926 Simply Spooky paper pack, V-94 Harvest Orange 2 & V215 Black cardstocks along my favorite F-12 Watercolor pencils. Contact me for a complete list.

My First Covered Tins...

I found these tins in the Michael's clearance section. Since there wasn't much to cover up, I figured they'd be a good start for me (the one that says Coffee is original). I used Xyron adhesive on the paper to be sure it wasn't going to move. Regular tape runner type of adhesive on the ribbon (some started to come up at the ends, so I tacked that down with YES! glue).

I was hurrying for a craft fair, and ended up selling my favorite one FIRST - the one that says CARDS. I added the word cards to the others later and they went pretty quickly.

All papers & stamps are TAC. Ribbons are from my vast stockpile.

Expanding my Internet Life!

It's 2007 - I've been around computers for more years than I'd like to admit - and I am now just joining the blog world. I love rubberstamping - and want to share with you some of my projects and how to do them. This seemed to be the best way for my TAC customers/hostesses and growing team to be able to see it all together (less duplication).

The Angel Company (TAC) has helped me continue my stamping addiction - with saving cost and space! It was a match made in heaven and now I'm an Angel (all their demonstrators are called angels - isn't that cool?).

I hope you enjoy the things you find here.

Have a great day! Ginger :-)

Me and My Gang

Me and My Gang
This is an 8x8 scrapbook page I submitted to TAC's "All About Me" contest. It's me, Tim, Jasper, Shadow & my blue pony.
